Nikko, Westys, RAC, & South Blue Cafe

Yes, a bit of total randomness in the midst of the never ending Valentine's slue of freebies. This is one I hope you don't miss since this hair comes with a hefty price tag -- RAC (http://slurl.com/secondlife/RaC%20City/101/121/26) has decided to give a fatpack of it's love affair hair for $0 for Valentine's Day so rush there and get it! Wandering around one day I happened upon the Nikko (http://slurl.com/secondlife/nikko%20am/94/113/27) I'm not quiet sure exactly what the sim is, but there were several shirts and a suitcase there all for $0. There is also some sort of game there where you heard chicks (yes, baby chickens) around, but I can't figure it out. Maybe you'll have better luck. =D

The Free Dove ~ Fashion Freebies Galore

This should be your first stop when departing newbie-hood! The free dove has a nice selection of fashion forward freebies ($0L) for both guys and dolls. You will need to know how to use your camera view to get around here. It can get a bit lag ridden. So here's a map I put together in a few minutes to help ya out.

The *New* Orientation Station

So, does anyone know what's up with the new orientation stations??? Boy, have they changed!

There's one for a couple of movies coming out:
#1 Beowulf:



You'll find shirts and pants for both male and female avatars. And also a Beowulf avatar for guys.

#2 I AM LEGEND!!! This orientation center is great! (And the best thing about it is ZOMBIES! Ok, ok they call them infected, but whatever. We all know they are ZOMBIES.)



If you're not new and going to check out an orientation center; this is the one! If you go through the complete orientation from the beginning you'll be pleasantly surprised.

There is a unisex outfit which includes prim shoes! And not only is there a white skin, but also a black skin. Yay! Someone noticed ethnic diversity. These skins are nice, too!

Ok, so you skipped the orientation bit, because you're not new. I can understand, but you still won't be left out. There are 4 uninfected humans and a police dog avatar. Or if you decide to be an infected you can choose from an infected skin or an infected dog avatar. Yay, Zombies!

And, there's more *if you want to join the fun you can play either an infected/uninfected on the adjoining sims. Just pick up the hud (and weapons if you're uninfected) and follow the arrows over the bridge.

Ok, so you're cup of tea isn't movies. How about TV CSI:NY has an orientation station.... ok, I won't go on about this one. Here's the pic:



Well, there's the pic of the last board I touched. I completed the orientation station and all I got was a lousy badge. LOL (If you do happen to wander down to Fashion Avenue you'll have better luck finding clothes. A male and female outfit should have been closer to the orientation point, guys.)

What about sports? Well, the NBA has a really great orientation station with the most diverse group of human avatars I've seen yet. And I have to say this group is the best looking, too!

An early New Year's

I'm back from my vacation and wanted to pop in to say a little hello and let you guys know about a couple of New Years dresses. ;) Now, I won't be posting regularly until after the 5th of January, because I am incredibly lazy and I have a bit more rl rebel rousing to do. Body Basics & Free 4 U (now 2 locations) MIA & MIA 2

A great place to get everything you need to start your avatar is Body Basics (http://slurl.com/secondlife/MIA/206/67/25). There you can pick up a male or female avatar (shape, skin, eyes, & hair) all totally free. This is an unbelievably generous offer and it is NOT just reserved to new players. It's free to anyone and I have to say a couple of the skins are especially excellent for the anyone who wants to play a female fairy or elf. The Body Basics store is loaded with hairs, skins, and avatars and definitely worth a browse for any citizen. But, the generosity of Ayla Holt and her group down at the MIA (http://slurl.com/secondlife/MIA/152/52/10) sim does not stop there. The group has totally redesigned and expanded the Free 4 U store (http://slurl.com/secondlife/MIA/148/24/25) to include a plethora of items that is truly astonishing ... clothes (m/f), jewelry, houses, landscaping, and animation overrides. Most items in both stores are original content, but there is also other items available here. Today I zipped over to a new sim that is under construction Rendervisions Isle. Nice place; and I hadn't heard of any of the shops before. So, if you'd like to head on down there are plenty of freebies and nifty, good, newness. I'd start with Rendervisions Isle 116,111, 23 where you will find a cart full of items including 3 hairs (2-f/1-m), a hat, rose diamon necklace and earring set, jet pack, tshirts, cottage house, and many art gifts. You'll be able to either hop on a horse and carriage or stroll down the lovely bricked walkways. One place you might step inside is Timecat's Treasures! (Rendervisions Isle 97, 78, 23) you'll find two freebies for a female child avatar 1) School Girl Green and 2) Valentine's Freebie - Heart Patched Outfit. If you happen upon Spellbound Animations (Rendervisions Isle 151, 28, 23) you can pick up a practice wand with spell. Curio Obscura (Rendervision Isle 172, 158, 26) has several freebies among them you'll find: zoethrope, franimation, sculptie tools, copper stockings, and a clockwork mustache. ($0)



Less silliness behind the cut....

Another place to check out is A Piece of Candy (Taranatha 187, 144, 45)where I bought the skin I'm wearing in all the pics for $1. Candy added another outfit and skin to the freebie section, which I haven't picked up.($1-0) And all the girls will want to run on over to the W.I.S.H. Shoes and more Mainstore (Alderney Island 34, 177, 22) to search for and touch those 5 little bitty golden boxes hidden around the parcel and recieve the shoes, boots, or bags up for grabs. The Free Ring ~ Freebies with a Cause

Some people give away freebies for a reason. And giving away things in hopes that others will give back is a pretty noble one. The Free Ring has been set up as a free area for the citizens of Second Life in hopes that we will give back to the War Child International. Here is the low down on the area as I received it via a notecard:

"The EvoluonBallroom houses a project started by Rosalie Rothlisberger to raise money for War Child.

War Child International is a network of independent organisations, working across the world to help children affected by war.

War Child was founded upon a fundamental goal: to advance the cause of peace through investing hope in the lives of children caught up in the horrors of war.

The Ballroom is open to the public free of charge. There are donation boxes where people that enjoy the place can donate into. All donations are going straight to War Child.
One of the 3 rings of the building is 'The Free Ring' where great items provided by sl creators can be found."

I found out about Nubium through a Fashion Con notice about a week or so ago. The dress (Miona) sat in my '!Free but not yet blogged' folder collecting dust. Miona can be found at Nubium for $1 along with super cute clothing $75-275 all transferable. You get several leggings option with this dress to, so it's definitely worth picking up.

Let Me Throw a Cabbage At Your Head

Ah, yes the impending holiday where drunk people throw cabbages at other drunk people is fast approaching. Somehow I've never quite gotten into this holiday. Maybe it was all those bruises from being pinched for going sans green or the freaking hurling of vegetables that made it not appealing or maybe it's the green beer. Anywho despite all my reservations I did dapper myself up in a green gown just for you guys. =-)~

Vintage Clothing Reproductions is offering this gorgeous dress- Bob Mackie Inspired Evening Gown, c.1980's -reg. $200- $0 (Zebranky 91,136,30). It's going to be up for a limited time as Skye changes her sample freebie outfits frequently.

At Kiss- Hair for Men and Women (Jeolla 214,69,68) you will find 4 $5 newbie packs of hair for Men and 4 for Women. Each pack comes with a mix of 5 hair colors. Hair at Kiss is $200/6 color pack, $1900/fat pack, and demos are $1. There is also a small selection of hair for female child avatars. I'm wearing the Coined style in most of the photos (the exception is the insert where I'm trying to show the jewelry) and when I picked it out I was thinking big 80's hair, but I have to say that the style is exceptionally more Angie Dickinson sex kitten.

The offer of the week at SKGShoes is a $5 pair of sculptie heels in jade. In addition there are 6 $1 shoes here: 3-white & 3-blue. (Aloha Business Park 167,203,22)

The skin is available at Char's SHOP (uemachi 37,110,29). You'll find not only the skin I'm wearing but a toal of 5 skins, 3 shapes, and a mani/pedi set ($0) among a number of well priced animated objects. You might want to explore this sim because there are tons of goodies on this sim not only for female avs, but also male avs.

When I took a look around Uemachi and happened into Yoona Mayo's Jewelry shop (Uemachi 14, 136, 29) I couldn't leave it out of this post. Yoona offered four $0 pieces - 2 earrings, 1-necklace, & 1- female hair. All of her jewerly is really reasonably priced with sets at $50 and earrings as low as $15. She also has hair for $40, but in a very limited color selection.

And really the gang at slfreestyles is doing such a great job on showing St. Patty's day goodness that I think I can slack off a bit. hee hee So check out their blog here.

Lawson Station is a freebie area where you will find a mixture of well circulated freebie standards like textures, furniture, particle systems, flight feather, & face (emotion) huds. You'll also find a couple of original freebies, some available at the stores offering them here for free and others are exclusive to this area. So you may want to swing by Lawson Station and take a brief look around. The store is not packed so it shouldn't take long to browse the area. On Walker Island sim where Lawson Station is located you'll find a small shopping district on the south west corner of the sim. Most stores have put out a freebie in store, but you'll want to pay particular attention to a couple of spots.

Since you'll probably spot MODE in the corner of this sim, I'll write a bit about it. If you like exploring you'll also want to take a look at MODE which is an area that displays pictures of outfits, information on the outfits, & in front of each picture of the outfit you'll find slurls for each piece in the outfit. Some of these slurls are outdated, but a number of them did yield at least one freebie while others were a complete bust. Although you may not find the exact freebie pictured at Mode you'll find a lot of interesting areas to explore. So this might be something to do when you're bored and in search of some freebies or when you're in the mood for shopping since most of the items that did cost were still available at the slurls displayed.
