The characteristics of the car remained the same as its original model back in 1967, but the design was heavily revamped. A new engine with higher power capabilities 3.8 liter LT1 V8 engine was introduced as a choice in the 1995 model of the fourth generation Chevrolet Camaro.

Extra features included all speed traction control and a new six speed T-56 manual transmission. Finally, in 2006, the production of the fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro was approved and it is presently in production.
