The Citroen C4-Triomphe wasn't intended for Europe but that is before we captured this prototype undergoing road testing in Southern France.
The C4-Triomphe is largely based off the extended platform of the C4 hatchback. The sedan first went on sale in China in late 2006 with expected sale figures of 30,000 units a year but it merely achieved 25,000 units. Earlier on this year, the car was announced to go on sale in South America later on this month.
Whilst a test mule was sighted undergoing cold-weather testing in Finland in 2005, Europeans were expecting it to go on sale in Europe....it looks like their wishes are about to come true.
We don't know why there is tape around the front headlamps but the little wires leading into the bonnet (check out top left hand corner of bonnet) means the mule is doing some engine and cooling testing.
Engines are likely to come from the C4 hatchback & coupé.
The C4-Triomphe could be revealed at the upcoming Geneva motorshow in March with sales starting in summer 2008. Pricing wise for the UK, it could start from around £12,500 for the entry level model going upto £20,000 for the flagship grade to rival the Volkswagen Jetta (Golf sedan).
Citroen could possibly keep the C4-Triomphe name in Europe otherwise it will be called the C4 sedan.Source URL: https://hayleyatwellstuff.blogspot.com/2007/11/citroen-c4-triomphe-european-bound.html
