1. I'm a picky eater. lol, I only eat pixels derived from invertebrates.

2. I am an aimless wanderer. I tend to bring up the map scroll out and pick a place to descend upon or search for interesting names via search.

3. I spend most of my time alone.

4. I'm extremely shy and if I'm talking to you it's either because you started a conversation with me, you're new and I'm giving you something that I think may help, or I'm off my meds. (Just joking about the last. ;))) Oh and if you try to flirt with me chances are I will run away or imitate an ostrich.

5. I do a little bit of modeling and photography. A self portrait I had submitted to the Last Call model search was picked to be in the Avatars of Second Life pdf; although losing the Last Call model search. I was among a group of lovely souls who competed to be the Second Mirage Jewel and actually was named a Jewel. Woot!

6. I loathe paying for no transfer clothing or shoes. I don't like to pay (and in most cases will not pay!) for something that I have limited right usage to (oh, I could really bore you on the merits of buying a cd over mp3s, but I shall spare you!).

7. I'm anal retentive at organizing my inventory. Each and every solitary item is filed away at the end of the day or beginning of the next day before I can play. I also label each folder with a NT or $how much I paid for the item after it's name. Yes, every single item! I've done this since day one that's how I can smell con artist. o.O Subfolders and lists make me moist! (ok, so I cheated with letting loose with my favorite word. Moist, moist, moist!)

8. I think I'm the only person who felt like they were hit in the chest with a sledgehammer when they checked out the new Tableau build. It was definitely the plane wreckage that almost pushed me over the edge. Breathtaking beautiful build (love the cemetery), but just like in rl I'm not ready to go home and think I'll avoid the sim until the next rebuild.

Confookery

It's wrong to steal. It's wrong for people to bring copyrighted and owned art into second life and sell it claiming they are the creators and it is just as wrong for me to take your texture and try to sell it as my own. Artist in any walk of life have the right to charge whatever they want for their product. If you don't like it - walk away.

There has been a rash of texture thieving going around and no I am not talking about you doing what you want with your product that you purchased for your own personal use. After all any artists knows that if they really love their work and don't want it altered they should not sell it (and that is why we should respect the generosity of the artist especially in second life- they are extremely giving). But, what I am talking about are people ripping textures from objects or prims and taking those stolen textures and selling them. It's got to stop. No one will want to create, share, sell, or give anymore. So take a stand and fight for the creators. After all without them this world would be just as mundane as first life.

Help Island Public 2

If you've been out of the loop there's a new Help Island Public on the Block. Help Island Public2 which at the moment doesn't seem to be included in the Library landmarks folder. So if you'd like to visit help island public in a less laggy & less populated environment you may want to check out Help Island Public2. You'll find the same tutorials, free store, textures, sandbox, and other amentities available at other Help Islands here too.



According to the following article: "sandboxes are open to the public". Just like in a school yard sandboxes are prone to a bit of bullying & griefing. If you are being harassed in the sandbox and you are complying with the rules (no nudity, no weapons, following the tos & community standards) then you should proceed by filing an abuse report (harassment). You might try im-ing the person before filing an Abuse Report (AR), but if this will cause further grief file an AR. This article takes you through the steps on how to file an abuse report. Unfortunately if the abuse is taking place over voice it is un-recordable/not includable in an AR at the moment. To combat voice abuse simply go to edit on the top menu> prefrences (last choice in edit menu)> voice chat tab (8th tab)> and uncheck the enable voice chat box. This will disable chat. (*If someone knows how to include voice recording in an abuse report PLEASE COMMENT*.)


(Help Island Public2 sandbox - This sandbox was nearly empty. So if you're looking to brush up on your beginning tutorials on how to make and edit prims this sandbox is waiting.)

Help Island Public and Help Island Public2 are available to all residents and public. If you have a problem you'll need to file an abuse report to remedy any harassment taking place there. You might also benefit from muting the resident in question (the instructions for muting a resident are included in the how to file an abuse report link). You should NOT retaliate against the offender; file an AR. Much of Help Island Public(2) allows building so if your project is small you could possibly move until the situation is resolved. You can read more about Help Island here and I hope the information provided in the link clears up any confusion as to if parts of the Help Island Public are privately owned and how to handle abuse.


If all else fails there are also several other sandboxes available. You may find both public and private sandboxes by using the search button on the bottom menu bar of your browser. Searching on either the All tab or Places tab would yield the best results. NCI is an excellent resource for both new and old citizens alike who like to build and NCI has many locations.


You can also use the search options to search almost any interest you may have and you'll likely find an area to visit or groups that share common interest. Good luck & hope this helps on your journey!
